Travel Industry Careers Association seeks Executive Officer

The Travel Industry Careers Association is going full steam ahead, announcing plans to recruit an Executive Officer.

TICA Deputy Chair, Sandra Chiles said the Executive Officer position was a key milestone in the association's development.

"TICA has been established by passionate industry leaders as a not-for-profit association to target the critical issue of future staff shortages impacting on the travel industry," Ms Chiles said.

"The lack of quality candidates for positions is being felt across the industry. It's now time for action and a key part of this position will be to galvanise industry and government support for practical solutions to this problem.

"The Executive Officer will become a focal point for our efforts to attract more people into the travel industry and retain existing expertise for the benefit of the entire travel sector."

"TICA's ultimate goal is to become a self-funding organisation. We're looking primarily within the travel sector for the right person at this stage and are happy to talk to any interested parties."

Sandra Chiles of inPlace Recruitment and Mandy Scotney of TMS Asia Pacific have volunteered their recruitment expertise to work together in recruiting the Executive Officer role.
