Travel Industry Careers Association goes online
The Travel Industry Careers Association (TICA) has launched a new website to address the industry’s longer term labour issues in a positive and practical way.
“The website has initially been targeted at the industry, so that people can easily access information on the Association, its aims and objectives, members and sponsors,” TICA Deputy Chair Sandra Chiles said.
Chiles expects the website to ultimately grow into a resource for the trade and a tool for those wishing to access information on careers in the industry.
“We have been very pleased by the support shown by our founding sponsors and members, but we need to continue to grow a united and concerted effort to address the recruitment issues that we face as an industry,” she added.
TICA was established by travel industry leaders to target the issue of staffing problems within the travel trade.
“The lack of quality candidates for positions is being felt across the industry and that's only going to get worse. We need to act now and we need industry and government support for practical solutions to this problem,” Chiles continued.
